Partnerships in Research for Optimizing Parenting Project

What is PRO-Parenting?

Developed in collaboration with the University of Oregon, PRO-Parenting is a study testing the effects of a behavioral parent training (BPT) intervention on parenting stress and child behavior problems among families of children with developmental delays. BPT teaches parents how to best deal with their child’s problem behaviors and gives them the tools to be a more effective parent. Participants also receive either a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction or Psychoeducation intervention that we believe may help to further reduce parenting stress and in turn, lead to both immediate and long-term positive effects on child behavioral outcomes.

What's next?

PRO-Parenting Project wrapped up Summer 2023 and will host a colloquium to present findings and focus on disseminating these interventions to the community!
